Summer Camp
Every summer, GESS LAB hosts a week-long camp for children between the ages of 10 and 14, which has been very successful in recent years. Participants receive an introduction to scuba diving, visit Limanu and Bat Caves, go on excursions, make microscope observations, participate in fun experiments, and learn about the local environment and the importance of conservation. The camp is organized by Dr. Alexandra Hillebrand-Voiculescu and Vlad Voiculescu.
SCUBA Workshop
for Students
Every year in July and August, GESS organizes summer workshops for groups of students from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and the Faculty of Biology of the University of Cluj. These consist of an Open Water Scuba Diver course, as well as field research in the area. The Open Water Diver course is taught by GESS members and diving instructors Mihai Baciu and Andreea Cohn from the SubAquaSport Dive Center.
